Accessing Datastream via LSEG Workspace
LSEG Workspace provides access to Datastream through its Excel add-on.
Datastream Excel add-on availability on campus
- 3 LSEG Workspace PCs in the Financial Resources Zone
- 3 LSEG Workspace PCs in the Financial Resources Suite
- 8 PCs in Room 1010
- To use Datastream on the other 8 PCs in Room 1010 you will require your own LSEG Workspace account. Datastream is a default add-on when registering for a LSEG Workspace account.
Datastream Excel add-on availability off campus
You will need to apply for a LSEG Workspace account. Datastream is a default add-on when registering. LSEG Workspace can then be installed on your own Windows based device. The Datastream Excel add-on does not work on Macs.
Opening the Datastream Excel add-on
- Select the PC Start Menu and select Refinitiv Workspace – Excel from the Refinitiv folder
- Excel will open. Select Blank workbook.
- Select the Workspace tab
- If you are not already logged into LSEG Workspace, select Sign in and enter your LSEG Workspace account details
- The Datastream add-on should automatically appear. If it doesn't, select the Workspace tab again.
Accessing Datastream via WRDS
The dataset is listed under LSEG in WRDS. To access WRDS datasets:
- Click 'Register' on the WRDS homepage.
- Register using your @city.ac.uk email address.
- Under 'User type', postgraduate and undergraduate students select 'Masters/Undergrad.'
- You will receive an email within two working days asking you to agree to the Terms & Conditions. Follow the instructions in the email to finish setting up your account.
