LSEG Workspace (including SDC Platinum) permitted use

Individual usage rights

  • View, use and copy (download and/or print) information for the user's individual use
  • Modify the information, and create derived data, solely for the user's individual use
  • Distribute and redistribute insubstantial portions of information and/or derived data in a non-systematic manner
  • Distribute information to other users who have a subscription from Refinitiv to view the same information.

“Insubstantial portions” means limited extracts which have no independent commercial value.

“Non-systematic” means use on an infrequent basis and not automatically generated by machine or regularly created by individual users.

  • Users are permitted to:
  1. Use the information for academic and non-commercial purposes excluding any employment opportunities
  2. After termination, store (but no use) and redistribute (in journal submissions only) information to the extent such information is required to support a user research purposes before termination.

Datastream download limits (LSEG Workspace)

Each user is permitted to download up to a maximum of 10,000,000 (ten million) data points per calendar month. This is the maximum allowance permitted with no possible extension.

Aftermarket Research or AMR (LSEG Workspace)

Aftermarket Research for academic staff
  • Licensed only for research purposes. For clarity, users are expressly prohibited from using the services in connection with consulting or other employment opportunities outside of client university (even if during a term of user’s employment or engagement at client university)
  • Users are permitted to store the information solely for use in connection with discrete projects related to research purposes
  • Users must delete the information on completion of the project for which it was used.
Aftermarket Research for students in academic institutions

Licensed solely for academic purposes and subject to all terms and conditions of Workspace for Students, as well as the following additional terms.

Aftermarket Research individual user-based viewing and download limits

Each user is permitted to view and/or download up to 150 billable pages of AMR per 24 hour period measured from 12am local time (“usage day”). Each user will be notified within the service upon reaching 150 billable pages in any given usage day and further usage will be suspended for that user until the next usage day commences.
